About RITG
In 2000, a group of Washington D.C. area remodelers
were interested in harnessing the emerging power of information technology
for their businesses. Together with a select group of allied
industry members, they formed the Remodelers Information Technology
Group.
The primary goal was then, and is now, to learn and share information
about using information technology intelligently, sensibly and profitably
in remodeling businesses. Using a combination of provider and user
presentations at our meetings,
the group discusses and learns what technologies and products make
sense and are practical vs. the ones that may hold promise but are
not yet practical. Members in the group freely share their experiences
and
opinions
with other
members,
as
well as with those outside the group.
Topics we have explored and will likely revisit in the future include:
- Accounting software
- Estimating systems
- CAD systems
- Remote computing
- Wireless computing
- PDA applications for remodelers
- Network security
- Cell phone and network technology
- Contact management
software
- Digital photography
- Tools and tricks to use with MS Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Web
sites (static and interactive)
- And more…
Because of the interests and experience of many
of our members, they are contacted by the press for their thoughts
about subjects
relating to technology, as well as other topics.
Remodelers Information Technology Group members
may provide their individual opinions to manufacturers and developers
of technology
from time to time. RITG, as an organization, does not provide ratings
or opinions of technologies, products and software.
Remodelers Information Technology Group is
a private organization. If you are interested in membership or
starting an RITG group in
your area, please contact us.
